Drainage and Rainwater

Hi we have a 1900 house, drainage survey has stated rain water is entering the sewage pipe to our cess tank. We have never had a problem with over flowing or anything. I don’t know where we would put a soakaway . Is there anything that allows this as drainage system is so old?

"Hello,

I take it from the cctv drain survey that it indicates the surface water is going to the cesspool which is contributing to the volume which is not ideal.
I can advise you that a survey would need to be carried out to identify whether it could be feasible to install one.
The general guidance would be approximately 5 metres from any building, 2 meters from any boundary.
Percolation tests would need to be confirmed.
Thanks, Harvey

"Hi Kez if your house has been built before 1970 and is a combined drainage system that links up with your septic tank or is piped into the sewage system you don’t have to worry about putting new systems in or putting in a soak away as long as there is no leaks or over spill it is allowed"
