"Damp-Proof Course or DPC bricks are bricks designed to have a low absorption rate, making them suitable for use as part of a damp-proof course construction. DPC bricks fall into two classifications: DPC1 – suitable for buildings and external works use, with a maximum water absorption rate of 4.5%"

"Hi,
I think you mean what type of brick you would use in the ground upto dpc level, because there is no such thing as a dpc brick. But if you were using bricks under the dpc level you would usually lay an engineering brick because they are stronger and non pourus,so are suitable for underground use,or you can use a concrete block until you reach ground level and then lay a normal brick upto dpc."
