Dog doing his business on tree often

I have a tree in my garden. My dog often urinates on it. Is this okay or could it be harmful?

"The chemicals in urine can soak through the bark and get to the cambium tissue. Done repeatedly over time it can destroy the tree."

"Yes absolutely fine it will just run off the bark no threat to the tree"
