Diagonal pattern wooden floor installation

Is it feasible for a DIYer to install a diagonal pattern wooden floor? Or should I hire a professional?

"To lay out a diagonal floor, first find the center of the room, pop two chalk lines bisecting the center, check them with a framing square, then use the same square to pop a bisecting line at a 45-degree angle that cuts through the center mark. This is your starting point and helps guide the rest of your installation."

"Best to use a professional but depends on costs
Have you installed flooring previously ?
If you have fitted laminate or LVT before you might be ok but wooden flooring is very complicated"

"It’s all up to you mate, it’s possible but it can get abit confusing at times, There’s abit to it depending on the room, you can put under layer on or you have to glue down, on different types of flooring there’s different methods of fitting."

"Always better to get a pro but you can try yourself and if you can’t then get someone"

"Laying hardwood flooring diagonally has design advantages and it improves stability, which are both important considerations when choosing a direction for laying the boards. On the minus side, however, are the extra time and effort the installation requires and the amount of wood it wastes."
