Coving with LED strip

Do I need to purchase the coving before finding someone to fit it. Or can I hire someone who provides and fits?

"It's better to buy yourself to chose model and type"

"You don’t have to buy it beforehand unless you want to.

Most trades who specialise in coving will:

• Supply the coving
• Advise on the correct profile for LED use
• Supply compatible LED strip and diffuser
• Fit and wire (or work with an electrician)

It’s actually better to get the installer involved first so they can measure properly and recommend the correct projection and drop to hide the LED dots.

If electrics are involved, make sure either:
– The fitter is qualified
or
– An electrician connects the transformer

That way everything is done safely and cleanly."

"You can find a trades person who will provide and fit for you. I would say this is the better option as the tradesperson will pick the correct items for the installation"

"You can do it either way. Many tradespeople can supply and install the coving with LED strip, which is often easier as they will choose the correct type and size.

However, if you already have a specific style in mind, you can also purchase the coving yourself and hire someone just to fit it."

"It’s usually better to hire someone who can both supply and fit the coving, as they can ensure the correct materials and measurements. However, if you prefer, you can also purchase it yourself and just hire someone for the installation.Have a nice day"

"Usually the tradesman will supply and fil the coving but you need to specify what coving that you require"

"Some people will supply and add to the quote but probably will be a bit cheaper if you was to supply it yourself so that would be my recommendation"

"Better that you choose a contractor who can advise rather than purchase something that doesn’t work, most of us on here are happy to supply and fit"
