Is it right to assume that a countertop is one of the most important areas to invest in when having a kitchen renovated?

"It depends on the person using it ..
If it is more like a kitchen feature it is one thing, if you cook and use it often or constantly it is a bit different and comes to personal preferences (granit, wood or other standard tops ... )"
