Cooker installation point cost

I'm switching from a gas to an electric cooker and found there is no electric point for a cooker. How much would it cost to get one? Fuse box is in the same room if that makes any difference

"Hi Rebecca, this would all vary on what KW the new cooker is. If it is less than 2.3kw then you could come off the existing circuit, however, it would depend on what is currently on that circuit. If the cooker is higher than 2.3kw then you are likely to need a new 6mm supply ran to it from the Consumer Unit. I would anticipate between £150-£250 assuming is it a simple installation.

Thanks,

"It makes a big difference the distance to the consumer unit close distance makes the job easier I assume u are talking about a free-standing cooker. Which. Would be in most cases a 6mm cable switched with an outlet behind the cooker area. Cost-wise I'm sure can be done for under £100"

"Between £180-£350 depending on distance, the cooker rating, how you're having the point installed. Also if you have an RCD and reliable earth. Anyone charging you less than £100, I’d be highly suspicious of."

"You would need to know the size of the cooker that you want to use, to wiring this point so far it’s between 250.00£ to 350.00£ ( this is depending the size of the hob)"

"Assuming you have the cooker already, the labour should be no more than 100£"

"Hi there,

I would imagine it would have to be quoted and looked at properly depends on the location of the fuse board in the room.

I wouldn’t charge any more than £100 plus parts."

"It won’t cost much around £100-150 if possible to enclose the cable in either trunking or in the wall, cooker switch also to be installed in the wall and connection plate at the back of the cooker"

"To price this, other factors are involved, ie
Solid floor?
Acces underfloor
Access above ceiling
Existing RCD protection
Spare ways in the consumer unit.

The cost would be between
£90 ------ £320"

"It all depends on the length of the cable run, and how easy it is to get cable there. Also wattage of the cooker? More information would be required to estimate, or alternatively a site visit. :)"
