Conservatory v’s extension

Question

We have planning permission for an extension but not sure I want to spend the money v’s expected return for increased value as want to move in next 5 years. Looking for advice on extension v’s conservatory.  Thanks

I  would recommend you built the extension, however, I would look at comparable properties for sale in your area with and without an extension. An extension can transform a house for potential buyers and give you more room while keeping heating costs down. A conservatory may be less expensive, quick to install and spacious, however, they loose heat, become out of date quickly and often not used in winter months.

Extension is best choice, it will increase house value, I agree you have to spend some money but you can also sell on good price as well, and in 5 year conservatory will look old too

Hi, conservatories are ok but in winter they can be too cold to use and in summer can be too hot. An extension will put more value to your property as it will be used more
