How often should you clean a fridge and freezer?

It is usually recommended that you clean your fridge once every three months or your freezer once every year to prevent any bacteria. However, I and most of my clients would do this a lot more frequently.

I clean my refrigerator every 3 to 4 months. This includes wiping down shelves, drawers, and doors, and removing any expired food. Clean spills immediately to prevent stains and bacteria growth.
I usually Clean the freezer every 6 months or as needed if I notice frost buildup or freezer burn. Defrost the freezer if ice buildup is noticeable, and wipe it down with a mild detergent.
