Chimney breast removal

What permissions and documents do I need for a Chimney breast removal in a first floor bedroom?

The chimney breast is on a shared wall of a 1930s semi-detached house.
The downstairs living room chimney breast has already been removed - should there be a certificate for how structurally sound this removal was when it was removed?
(We are buying this house)

"Hi yes the council should of been informed of this however in most cases permission is never asked they just go ahead. You can ask the council for permission.
I would be happy to do this for you.
Thanks
