Chandelier for a kitchen?

What does a kitchen need for a chandelier to look right and how can I be sure it will be safe to have one installed? I'm considering having one added as part of a refurbishment.

"For the first one - look through as many designs you may find, apply your taste too; good to understand image of your kitchen to suggest further .. Often, used above islands, in larger spaces ..
For the other safety one you need a right person to install .."
