I would like to take my 70's style open fireplace and turn it into an electric one. The tiles are all broken around it so would need to be replaced and so does the mantle piece. what kind of trades person do I need and how much roughly would this cost?
Good day. I have a rooftop patio off of my kitchen on my third floor apartment. I recently removed the old decking to find the roof (normal flat, black, felt? apartment building roofing) is in fine shape--thankfully. Now, I'd like to install exterior ceramic/porcelain tiles. Can I put adhesive right on the roofing, or do I need a cement substrate first? The slope is already well structured towards the drain and so I'd like to avoid using self-leveler/skreed if possible? Thanks in advance for any guidance.
Which leveling system do tilers prefer the best? Clip - Wedge - Plier, combo T Leveler (with the wrench) Or the screw/cap system?
What should I do to stick down membranes that are uncoupling? Is this something I can do myself or am I best off hiring a tiler? Thanks.
What are some alternative stone tiles to consider that are less known than the usual choices like porcelain or ceramic? What are the pros/cons of these alternatives and are there any additional considerations I should take on board if considering these alternative options?
When having tiles laid on a bathroom floor, is it customary to lay backer boards?
Will my bathroom look smaller if the tiler tiles on top of existing tiles ?
Why is there a milky or cloudy surface on my bathroom tiles? How should i treat this? How can it be fixed? How can I stop it happening again? Thanks
How do you back butter tiles? I have some handmade wall tiles to lay and I'm told this is the best method.
