    Repairing bathstone

We have a listed grade 2 house built in 1850's. Over the years previous owners varnished and painted the internal bathstone windows (all 9 of them) . I have painstakingly worked on getting this off (so far done 3). There is damage, not just on the joints but all over including the top curves. How do I get a really nice repair finish without it looking bodged??

Do I need to retreat jet washed sandstone steps

I have stone steps up to my front door (it’s a Victorian terrace). They were jet washed over the summer. Since then I have noticed a leak in my cellar, underneath where the steps are. Do I need to “seal” the steps in any way to try and stop this. I think they are either limestone or sandstone - either way they look porous, with lots of little holes in them.
