What makes a wood floor go creaky/noisy and how can it be fixed? Is it something to fix DIY or should I hire a joiner?
In our groundfloor back bedroon we have a concrete floor with bitumen top, laid on 1978. A damp patch has appeared in the middle of the carpet. There is no staining on the ceiling above so it seems to be coming from below. Is this possible? The bitumen seems sound, but has white blobs of mould on it.
