We are doing a small extension (4m2) and wondered if you can guide us on depth of footings necessary for a single storey extension, with flat roof, on a concrete slab. Our house was extended at some point to add a sun room to the back of the house. The original rear window was left in the back wall to let in light to the kitchen. It doesn't look very pretty and the sun room feels tacked on. What's the cheapest way to remodel it and modernise it slightly? What would a builder suggest?
How long do gravel and sand brick foundations tend to last?
I am looking at purchasing a property where the integral garage has been converted into a cinema room with a false wall behind the garage door. Is it possible to convert the garage door to a window and external wall so that the cinema room could then be used as a bedroom?
