  • Porcelain Bathroom Tiles

I would like to re-tile my bathroom with porcelain tiles on both the floor and wall. The tiles are 60x30cm. Currently, I have ceramic tiles on the walls. I have been told that if I remove the current tiles the plasterboard will need to be replaced, which is fine. However, today I was told that I cannot hang porcelain tiles directly onto plasterboard and I need to attach a Cement Backboard (sold by Topptiles) to the plasterboard and then hang the wall tiles. Is this correct?

    How to use thick tiles?

I brought bathroom floor tiles 600x600 with a 9.5mm thickness for my bathroom which needs 7 box of tiles. My builder states it is too thick to work with. However I have seen other bathrooms install these tiles perfectly. Is this true or should I find another builder?

    Bathroom renovation costs?

Hi all, I've just bought my first house and the bathroom is in great need of renovations. Theoretically, it's an old bathroom that needs a basic renovation. Basic taps, shower/bath, basin+pedastal etc everything in same place. No Plastering needed, no paint needed lino floor, pvc plastic 4 sheets needed. No fancy stuff or extras. My cheapest quote was £7,500 i got from bathroom businesses and it's over budget for me. I'm thinking about doing part of it myself, or contacting a sole trader. Could anyone give me a rough idea of how much that would cost? It's a small bathroom that literally only just about fits that stuff, very narrow. Thanks in advance
