Carport lifespan

If I take care of my carport well, how long should I expect it to last?

"Depends on the type and materials used:

Canopy/Fabric - From a few days if your unlucky with wind to a few years (optimistically)

Plastic - 5+ Years depending on temperature extremes, wind damage and sun exposure

Wood - If built to a good standard and treated regularly and properly then 10-20 Years with ease possibly a lifetime.

Metal - Easily over a lifetime if corrosion is spotted and treated early

A mixture of the above would mean a mixture of the answers"

"Depending on design and weather conditions why not a lifetime, certainly ten years"
