Can you paint water paint over oil based paint?

The doors in our house have been painted with oil gloss and I want to switch to a water based paint instead. Can I just go straight over the top?

no first you need to sand them down than you can apply water based paint

Yes you can either MSP which is available in various colours. A product called Architectual solignum or a Zinzeer product over top followed by a colour x 2 coats colour of your choice

No ! You have to sand them down not quite to bare wood and preferably a coat of undercoat before

Yes you can. However I would sand back so the water base paint sticks, otherwise could start to peel in the future, so sand to rough the oil paint up clean then coat as required.

You will need to rub down the door first to create adhesion and then apply primer, give it a light rub down and apply top coat. Al depend how it look for you decide how many coats it needs.

you can paint on oil base on a surface before but with some procedure,  you cant just go straight over the told, you will need to sand of the glossy  of and get at least matt look surface

Yes, it is possible but sanding old paint off will give a better finish.
