Can I make pebble dash plaster myself?

Is it easy and safe to make pebble dash plaster DIY? Or should it really always be left to a professional?

"I would always suggest leaving it to someone who knows that trade, as things can go wrong and then you could end up paying someone to do it anyway"

"Pebble dash ,is a small pink and white/black and white /or a stone from 5 mill to 25 mill stone. It is not applied with plaster it is applied with a sand / cement or lime mixe . I would sugest you employ a proffesional dasher as it is nothing like putting plaster on a wall as you have to throw the stones on with a small hand held shovel or a trowl on to the mix which has allready been applied to the wall .but you have m be quite quick as if you take to long the stones will not stick to the applied render as suction playes a large part in this profesion"

"Most people are doers and fixers and how nice it could be to getting things done by yourself. When it comes to something as technical as plastering, my advice is to leave it to the professionals. Pebbedashing is an art and should be done by a professional"

"Hi , definitely don’t try. Pebble dashing yourself, it’s a skill. And knack to get the stones to stick. In a uniform look , I actually learnt dashing , before I did plastering. With some old school guys"

"I’d say it depends on the size of the job and if you’ve had any experience using a trowel. Hope this helped!"
