Can I leave binliners for collection at my front door?

Could I leave various binliners filled with waste at my front door when I'm not home for a man and a van to collect or would this be against some regulations?

"You can leave if you trust your neighbors from the left."

"In most cases, you can leave bin liners out for collection, but there are a few important considerations.

If the waste is being collected by a licensed waste carrier (man and van service) and it is arranged for a specific time, leaving the bags on your private property (e.g. your driveway or directly outside your front door within your boundary) is generally acceptable.

However:
• Leaving waste on a public pavement or highway could potentially breach local council regulations.
• Bags left out for long periods may attract vermin or be split open.
• You remain legally responsible for the waste until it is collected by a registered carrier.

To stay compliant, you should:
• Confirm the collector is a registered waste carrier.
• Agree on a clear collection time window.
• Keep the waste within your property boundary if possible.
• Request a waste transfer note for your records.

It’s always advisable to check with your local council if you’re unsure, as regulations can vary slightly by area."

"Hi Abdul
This is completely OK, I would recommend labelling the bags to be taken so its clear for the person removing them."
