Can I install a new roof in the winter?

Can I have a roof installed during the winter months or do roofers tend to take time off from working during this time due to the cold weather conditions, etc.? Thanks for your time.

"Hi Bill

You should have no problem re-roofing in winter. The roofing industry is year-round and I’m not aware of any companies that have time off.

"Yes, you can have a roof installed in winter. Once you get your underfelt on it's pretty much watertight from there. You only get cold standing still... work hard to keep warm.

"Having your roof changed any time of year ok as long as it's watertight after every day of work finishing we did 6 roofs in December up to Xmas eve, not a problem...so anytime good long as you got professional roofing company to do it there should not be a problem"

"There’s no reason you can’t have a new roof installed in the winter. The rainy days can be frustrating and may take time off during these periods. But I work all through winter every year. Hope this helps."

"As long as it’s dry and will be for the day I would be more than happy to do a roof in winter winds aren’t too much of a problem"

"A roof can be changed any time of the year, if the job would need time to complete then maybe a scaffold and the building made watertight, but any good company should complete work whenever needed."

"Yes. You can, by fitting scaffolding around your house and sheet on the top of the roof so we can protect the new roof from Rain"
