Can I have an outside drain

Hi I currently have no outside drain in my back garden only the pipe coming from the guttering going into a closed drain. I attempted to jet wash my patio but as there is nowhere for the water to go it was a very tedious task. What would the cost of having an open drain fitted be please or any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks

"Yes you can it is just a matter of exacting a trench and connecting onto the drain network"

"Hi. There is one option which depends on the size of you garden. You could dig a soakaway pit and then you can add drainage anywhere you like.

A soakaway is a buried drainage feature which seeks to manage surface water on the site and infiltrate into the ground, rather than discharging to an offsite location such as a watercourse or sewer."

"Hi Laura, there are a few things we as plumbers need to know before you can get a cost, such as is there a surface water line running threw your property that you could connect to or is there only a soak-away, the cheapest option is for there to be a main or shared surface water line running threw your property that you can connect to, you can add a new soak-away and install ACO drains around the area and then run them to the new soak-away, we would not recommend connecting to a existing soak-away as they have been designed and sized to take water already and adding to it can shorted the life expectancy of the soak-away, so I can only suggest getting a professional to visit you property and advising you from there as we can’t do this over a phone or a internet without dimensions and surface area and in some cases a percolation test.
I hope this helps
Many thanks

"Hi, Yes it is possible to have an outside drain fitted, but cost would vary on a few things, such as is, is it just 1 single drain you are wanting fitting or a aco drain (row of grid drain) also would depend on where the drainage pipework is, working out wether you are on a 1 pipe or 2 pipe system for the drainage or to connect to an existing soak away if there is one.
The best thing to do would be to get a drainage company to come and take a look and qoute from that. Hope this helps"
