Buying a TV streaming stick

What are the most important things to look for when buying a TV streaming stick? There all look pretty similar with different prices, so what makes one better than the other?

"The first thing you’ll want to decide on is which company you’re with. You can choose between Google and Amazon, really. There are a few others but they aren’t as widespread.
If you choose Google, it’s a Chromecast.
If you choose Amazon, it’s a FireStick.

Next, look at resolution. You should pick a model that matches your TV. If you have a 4K TV, then you should buy a 4K streaming stick. If you have a FHD(1080p) TV, then either the FHD or 4K model will be fine and will allow you to replace/upgrade the TV in future without having to replace the streaming stick.

Do some research to see what apps are supported by the specific stick. Make sure any apps or services you subscribe to are on the list. My FireStick lets me login to YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Spotify and a few others.

After that, it’s really just ancillary features to consider like voice control and using the remote for the streaming stick to control the TV (on/off, volume etc)"

"To me when buying a streaming device I would always go for one that has the most RAM and gigabytes cause the more apps you use the slower. The device will run, so it always look for one like an Amazon cube more than a stick because it has bad connection to the Internet, and again, as I said, has more internal memory which to me makes for a better more reliable use"

"Compatibility: Make sure the streaming stick is compatible with your TV and internet connection.
Streaming services: Check if the streaming stick supports the streaming services you use the most, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, or Disney+.

Picture quality: Look for a streaming stick that supports at least 1080p HD, and ideally 4K Ultra HD, to ensure high-quality picture and clarity.
User interface: The user interface should be user-friendly and easy to navigate.

Remote control: Make sure the remote control is intuitive and has all the necessary buttons, such as a home button, playback controls, and volume controls.

Voice control: Some streaming sticks come with voice control, allowing you to search for content, adjust the volume, and control playback with voice commands.

Price: Finally, consider the price and compare it with other streaming sticks that offer similar features and performance.

Keep in mind that some streaming sticks may offer additional features, such as gaming capabilities or the ability to mirror your phone or laptop screen, which could be important to you depending on your needs."
