Aerial not working properly

Question

Hi traders ! I’m a carer for an elderly housebound man. His tv aerial seems to be playing up - picture going fuzzy and sound not coming through. Seems to work when tapping the wire occasionally. Anyone know how I can get this fixed for him ??? Really appreciate the help :)

The Connector at the end of the wire might be lose or not connected properly.

I would suggest going on your description that the aerial is OK.
Probably the lead coming from the socket to the television or the socket itself is faulty. 
A new lead would cost around five pounds and is Easton change.
The socket itself would be about the same price but abit more tricky to change.

Hi Chelsea could be a connection worked loose going into the TV? Or it could be the ariel moved on the roof? Try the connection into the back of the tv

Hi ,  this could be many things causing the issue, it may not be related to the cable you are touching, only testing with equipment would correctly identify the probelm

It may just need a new end on the cable, but really wants a professional with a proper aerial meter to test the signal… I’m Essex based if you need someone to help.
