What's the best type of wood to use when building a chicken coop?

"Sawn fence posts come in many sizes depending what you need. Please note " Do NOT " put bark chips in the enclosure. They are treated with toxins which will kill chickens."

"Use a naturally rot-resistant wood (like cedar, redwood, or tropical hardwoods) Choose a softwood (like Douglas fir, hemlock, spruce, or pine) and apply a nontoxic sealer or treatment. Choose a plywood designed for exterior use and stain or paint it."

"50mm x 50mm treated exterior grade timber fix the frame with exterior graee screws or nails"

"Best to use cedar/larch but any treated wood is good & if not treated do it yourself especially the outside to protect against weather conditions.."

You can use various wood Cedar, Hardwood or fruit woods they are less prone to quick wood rot.
