Best windows for escaping fires and security

What are the best windows for a) opening quickly in a fire and b) being as secure as possible from intruders breaking in? I’d like to find the best windows that meet these two criteria.

"UPVC windows are the best and probably most common. To make them easy to escape from in the event of an emergency you can replace the hinges with ‘egress hinges’. These hinges will open to a full 90° allowing them to open wide enough for people to exit through."

"All depends on the style of your house in all honesty. If your in a Victorian style house then vertical sliders ..If not, make sure your windows have egress hinges and a clear opening of 450mm."
