Best way to restore cast iron fireplace

What's the best method and the best products for restoring a cast iron fireplace that's heavily painted?

"The best way is to
Strip flaking paint with nitramors paint stripper once all stript back.
Rub down with white spirit and a soft cloth to remove residue from the paint stripper.
Then use steel wool to clean any rust away you may need to start with a grade 1 medium wool if there is rust present then go through the grades as you would sand paper but using steel wool eg 0,00,000,0000
Finally finish by applying iron paste with the 0000 steel wool, and you will have a master piece."
