Best frost-friendly driveway material

What would you say is the best driveway material for cold and frosty weather? I live in the Scottish highlands so I’d be worried how the driveway might fare during the winter.

"I would use open texture 10 ml tarmac would be for fine hard wearing durable surface for any hard base frost couldn’t affect it"
