    Bathroom renovation tile tips

    Bathroom Specialists

Hi there, I’m designing a bathroom renovation that I have in mind (it’s just the basics right now but I’m hoping to hire a professional to help with the design with a bit of essential input on my part). I’d like to know whether large tiles can help a small bathroom look larger? Also, just curious if the opposite is also true?

"Hi, I've been fitting bathrooms for nearly thirty years and large format tiles definitely help to make it 'feel' bigger as does light colours obviously and good lighting. Strategically placed mirrors can definitely help too. Hope this was helpful."

"Hi, some people have said so but I do not agree, the way the tiles are laid can give an illusion of looking bigger but the size of the tile won’t help much if at all."

"Hi, not necessary has to be large, I have done small bathroom with small tile and still look spacy. I would say when you go for small tile then you tile only section of the bath, shower area and not all the walls. Also big tiles looks good and you can go half way to wall outside bath/shower area."

"Personally, I think the larger tiles are better because there are less grout lines. Try and pick something with not much pattern. The less busy the walls, the bigger the bathroom will look."

The light colour enhances the the look of size in a small space .

And yes Larger wall tiles can look good and make the eye when look at or inside the space fill like it’s open up.

    I hope that helps you

Far better than tiles and all fire-rated and more maintenance-free."

"Using a large tile will make a bathroom look bigger as it opens up the area due to less tile joints."
