Bathroom extractor fan repair or replace?

If a bathroom extractor fan breaks, can electrician repair it or will it probably need replacing?

Have to way up the cost of parts plus labour versus the cost of installing a new fan. Most fan manufacturers do not supply parts for fans.
Replace is the only option"
