What is an apartment garage and how big do they tend to be?

This is just a insulated brick or block garage typically built in your back garden to provide additional space in your house. Their big enough for a small bathroom and sitting area anywhere 25m2 to 30m2 is a typical size.

Well a garage bay is normally about 2.800mm

So it depends how many bays you have.

An apartment garage is essentially a flat/apartment built above a garage. They tend to be the same size as the garage below.

I have never heard of "apartment garage" before but I am assuming that a garage is being converted into an apartment? To answer your question you need to answer first:

"How long is a piece of string?"

It is an apartment above a garage, usually a double garage. There is usually one bedroom with a kitchen, toilet and shower. It mostly serves as a guesthouse.
The standard size of a double garage is approximately 8 meters wide and 6 meters long.
