Advice on garage floor paint needed

Can I use leftover wall paint to paint my garage floor? If not, would it be ok to use it if I add a layer of sealer on top to protect it? Alternatively, are other types of garage flooring better and more long lasting like carpeting or tiles? I’m open to all suggestions

"Hi
In no way can you use wall paint it’s water based, if it’s concrete you need to clean the floor and I would recommend a proper floor paint oiled based, apply 2 coats this will last and protect your floor, and easier to clean if you have a spill.

"Hi

Best not to use a wall emulsion as it will not last very long and will be a bit of a wasted exercise.

I would apply a coat of water based (quick drying) stabiliser and then two coats of an oil based floor paint. This will pass the test of time and be a permanent solution."

"Don’t use wall paint, get proper floor none slip paint for this as it’s safer if damp you won’t slip where as using wall paint won’t give you that protection."

"Hi Patrick, you can't use emulsion on the garage floor. You can buy special floor paint which contains some resin and makes it very strong. Johnsons have a good quality floor paint, but you need to stir it very well before painting and cut in corners with brush then roll it with roller. The floor need to be wet and dust free."
