1970s plasterboard sandwich panel-water resistance

My bathroom wall is old-style cardboard and plaster sandwich board. It's been soaked from above by a boiler leak and I wondered if the cardboard in the middle is compromised. I can't see it drying out very well and I'm concerned about mould as well as structural strength

"Hi if in doubt change it as boards normally don’t hold well after water damage"

"I would replace it with new as water saturation is hard to dry completely and would rot and possibly smell as time goes on"

"Probably time to replace .refit and reskim as the problem will almost certainly get worse in time"
