Just moved into a 1930's house with original parquet floor which is paint splattered and has raised about 2mm in the odd place around the edges. It seems very dry with no moisture evident. Can I lay laminate over the floor to spruce the property up.?

Hi, How much (approximately) would it cost to install an RSJ to an external load bearing wall between a dining room and extension in order to open the dining room into the kitchen? I have power (using a mains tester screwdriver ) going to the fan switch in air cupboard. Power showing going to the new fan. It has a humidifier sensor. I ran the shower but nothing? And ideas. It’s a new fan as the other one never worked when I moved in.
