Hi, My shower tray collapsed and needed to be replaced. My question is - is it possible to change it for a new one without braking tiles around? Is it the way all shower trays being installed so to change something you gave to crash tiles?
Where is the best place to buy a kitchen from? I have looked at a variety of places (B&Q, Wickes, Wren ETC) and they all vary massively on price and quality. I am looking for something mid range, likely in a high gloss finish. Is it better to purchase myself and then hire a kitchen fitter?
Recently I have had renovations in my bathroom, which included the installation of a plasterboard wall which is right by the bath. Tiles were fitted to the plasterboard with an adhesive it seems to have been done very neatly and correctly but I am concerned if plasterboard is okay to use so close to the bath without waterproofing beyond the tiles themselves. The last thing I want is a structurally unsound wall of tiles right next to my bath. Is this usual to have tiles fitted to plasterboard walls like this or should I bring this up with the bathroom fitter who fitted the wall?
Where can I go to get the best kitchen? I have a recently bought a property which needs a new kitchen fitting. Is it better to find somewhere to supply the kitchen and then hire a tradesmen to fit it, or have a tradesman supply and fit the kitchen alone?
Do I need to remove old render before rerendering with krender
I am adding some extra sockets to the ring main in my bedroom. I have done this before and used open grommets in the back boxes to protect the cables. However I've seen in one diy book that we should only use blind grommets and cut a hole in them just big enough for the cable - apparently this is to hinder fire / smoke spreading in event of a fire. Is this correct?
Hi, I asked a handyman a while ago for a quote on removing peeling paint from my bathroom ceiling and repainting it. He told me that he would scrape off the peeling paint, seal over the area with diluted PVA glue and then paint over. I am now planning to do the work myself, but I wondered whether PVA is the right thing to be sealing the plaster with - I've heard mixed reports. Will it work or not?
How much will it cost to remove old wallpaper feature wall, re-wallpaper and paint a room with two coats and a gloss coat?
Hi all I have found my bathroom sink’s tap for cold water suddenly has very low pressure, yet the hot water tap in the sink runs fine. The baths’ taps are also running fine. Also, there is a mixer tap and I have a combi boiler setup. Does anyone have any idea how this has happened or how I can fix it? Or will I need to ring a plumber?
I’d like to put a small light and socket in my little potting shed and an outside light with a motion sensor. Someone has suggested I’ll need a new consumer unit for these 3 things, even though the socket will hardly ever be used. Is this necessary do you think?
