What can be done about blisters on paint in a living room? Does it depend on the type of paint, wall surface material, or/and extent of the blisters? Would it cost much to have a professional fix this?
Im having a built in dishwasher in my new kitchen. Should l arrange a plumber to do the work before or after the new kitchen is fitted ?
I am needing my bathroom light pull cord replaced and have been told that as the existing one is about 2 inches up into the ceiling the electrician will not do it. Is this correct? As surely it can still be removed and a new one fitted?
I have a standard wall socket thats always worked fine - however it now doesnt seem to turn off, whether the switch is in the ‘on’ or ‘off’ position. I.e whatever is plugged in continues to be powered whichever position the switch is in! Is it safe to keep using the socket??
I'm currently refitting a kitchen which a cowboy made a real mess out of, the customer is hoping to recover some of what she paid to the previous contractor. The fitter had installed an integrated fridge freezer unit covering two fused spurs, and the outlet for the fridge, they had also left the outlet for the dishwasher behind the dishwasher unit (which was fed from one of the two spurs behind the fridge). I've always been told the aforementioned practise is illegal, or at very least in breach of regulations. Can anyone confirm if this is correct, and point me in the right direction of some literature to verify this? There were also sockets above the gas hob, and within 300mm of the sink. Thanks in advance 👍🏻
What can I do to make electrical equipment safe to work with? Asides from cutting off their power supply?
We would like to brick up our kitchen doorway and replace (and enlarge) a window opening, fitting small bi-folding doors (around 70'inch opening) on the same wall. Any ideas how much this might cost (minus the glazing)? Thanks.
I'd like to change all my home's locks to work with one key for convenience but does this have any downsides in terms of security?
I want the restoration/renovation of my stairs case. The staircase rail is still very okay just needs decoration.
