Windows letting in a lot of road noise

Our double glazed windows are only about 8 years old but we can hear the road quite clearly through them. Is this a seal issue or would we need to look at acoustic glass?

"In my opinion if your windows are only 8yrs old and in fairly good condition the majority of noise would come through the outer frame or sealnt. The original fitters may not have used expanding foam between the stonework and the window cavity which I have seen several times. I think the windows have not been sealed sufficiently rather than the window itself.
Kind Regards Garry"

"best idea is to get triple glazing if close to busy road can use the same frames"

"Considering your existing windows are only 8 years old, acoustic glass is the best option because acoustic glass will fit into your existing frames. Yes, triple glazing would be the best and most effective option but this means that the whole frame will need to be replaced to triple glazing being thicker which then results in a more expensive job."

"there is lots of reason noise can enter your property , acoustic glass may not solve everything , although it would help . Noise can come in through trickle vents , vents in walls , gaps around the window frames them selves etc .
it may be worth trying acoustic glass but do not expects miracles . May be worth investigating all other holes first before spending your hard earned money ."

"Hi. There may be many factors, but you would have to see what you need first.
They can be gaskets, hinges, etc"
