"Look for a lock that is anti-snap, anti-pick, anti-drill and anti-bump. There are some very sophisticated lock barrels on the market now by brands such as Apecs, Ultion, Yale and Iseo to name but a few. Cheap locks are easily picked or bumped or snapped, it's all on YouTube for the Ives to learn and the tools are readily available on Amazon and eBay so getting a good lock is quite important these days.

Insurance companies generally require your Upvc and Composite door locks and handles to add up to 3 stars of security. So you could have a 1 star lock with a 2 star handle or a standard handle with a 3 star lock for example."

"Hi , Yale is a good make there is a few , but you are better going on grade.

*Standard cylinders
*1 star British standard
*3 star British standard

3 is the best grade"

"The security of the lock, for example the star rating of the locking and the component within the lock (anti snap lock)
And also look for a heart shaped logo on the face of the lock which tells you it’s been approved by British standard institute"

"There's different features on a cylinder lock especially a euro cylinder. If you're looking for something high security then a 3 star cylinder police approved if what you want.

Some have keys that can only be cut from particular locksmiths not all which also helps keep it more secure"

"Every cylinder manufacturer has many different features. What to look for is a cylinder that is anti bump/ drill/snap and pick.

A way to easily identify these features is to use the British standard star rating.

But also make sure that the cylinder fits as flush with the handles as possible when fitted."

"They are different quality cylinders around, they are standard, anti snap, 1 star, 3 star and 3 star plus. The standard varies from brand to brand, but for the highest security features in a lock, go for a 3 star cylinder."

"If it has a kite mark on it than it is British standard. A good cylinder will be anti snap, anti drill anti pick."

"Hi Catherine, depends on your location, I'm a locksmith and have a basic keyed alike antisnap cylinders, and that works as I'm in a very nice area. If you are in a city centre or a council estate you may want to invest in higher security, bare in mind the more secure they are the more sensitive they are and possible failure etc.."
