"1. Crushed Stone: This is the most commonly used material for driveways. It comes in various sizes, with 3/4-inch being the most popular. It offers excellent drainage and compaction qualities, making it durable and long-lasting.

2. Pea Gravel: This is a smaller, more rounded type of gravel that is comfortable to walk on. It also provides good drainage, but can be easily displaced by heavy vehicles.

3. Decomposed Granite: This type of gravel is made from crushed granite rock that has decomposed over time. It has a natural appearance and is often used for pathways and driveways. It requires a firm base for stability.

4. Limestone: This is a versatile material that comes in various sizes and colors. It is often used for driveways because it is easy to work with and provides good traction.

Ultimately, the type of gravel you choose will depend on your personal preference, budget, and the specific needs of your driveway."

"Any gravel works as long as the hard standing and drainage is adequate.

A permeable resin drive is an excellent choice."

"Hi Angie me personally, I would tend to go with 20mm shingle as it's less likely to get caught in the bottom of shoes and tyre tread"
