Warded lock

Is a warded lock outdated? Where might it be used today, if at all? Is it only used on old doors?

"Hi

Warded locks are still being manufactured in rim locks for sheds. It was the most cost-effective way to differentiate keys without increased manufacturing costs and provide an easy way to create a master key system to your property (1 key open multiple locks). I have repaired, replaced springs and cut keys to these when a customer has a listed/period building, there is still use for them its just from a security point of view they have been superseded by other means of differing key patterns.

Kind regards
Jason"
