Types of rug edgings

What does it mean to have different rug edgings and what are the different types of rug edgings?

"Depending on the type of material used for the rug, you will have the appropriate edging for it.

The edging is required to keep the rug intact otherwise the material would just break away over time as well as be rough and unaesthetic.

The edging may be a cloth binding edge, suitable for a man made fibre material. This would be a low cost rug.

If the rug was wool or a better quality man made material then the edge may be wool whipped.

Hope that gives you a starting guide"
