Should we get a refund for removal truck breakdown?

Our removal truck broke down on the way to our new home and we were a day late getting our belongings. We've asked for a partial refund but the company says no. Are we being unreasonable to want some money back?

"As a responsible business they really should of give you a full refund or at least a very big discount"

"I don’t think you can ask for a refund as long as the works where completed"

"The company should certainly accept some responsibility most definitely. A partial refund is more than reasonable. Is there anything under their terms and conditions regarding this?"

"Absolutely not,as it's not your fault it broke down! It's on them, plus the inconvenience of having to wait another day. What if u had paid someone to unload the contents at your end, u would have to pay them something. I would definitely keep on at them and also say u will put on Facebook how disappointed you were with the service u received"

"Yes, you should, as removal companies should be insured in case of these accidents."

"I believe no your not being unreasonable to be compensated in some way but in the same hand what you need to take keep in mind is the company has took a hit in the pocket already . I do think as a good company owner its all about how you look after your customers big or small I myself always want that best review"

"If they would not be able to complete the job, get a full refund, if that's only a delay there's no reason for the refund."
