Why is my concrete driveway cracking?

Thin shards of concrete have cracked and come loose from the surface of my drive. What can I do about it?

"This is either due to incorrect concrete for the job ie for cars ect will be different to concrete laid just for a base or walking on!!! Other problem could be that is was not laid thick enough!! U could just cut a little out were is cracked and re do a small bit and also see how thick it is and if you are lucky it will be OK and you can just fill the small area with concrete"

"Your concrete should of been rock solid ground and made to last who ever put it in did not compress or make it deep enough. It can be fixed if filled in to take the noticeable effect off it"

"This is because the concrete has not been made using the right sealing material and potentially not enough metal rebar supporting the mix"

"The cracks because there is not a good concrete mix
Maybe they didnt do enough iron netting
Repointing can help"

"The foundation is no good underneath the concrete driveway Adam ? Very fine surface cracks, sometimes called “crazing,” are an indication that the surface of the concrete dried too quickly when was poured into your drive way ?"

"Could be the concrete mix wasn’t strong enough or it could be the expansion joints are not correct"

"It could just be surface cracks which is normal to be fair it’s just wear and tear , it could be because the concrete wasn’t laid concrete not tamped out right and then you get week spots and that’s where it starts to deteriorate especially when the frost get it in the winter Iv been doing concrete works for a long time"

"Simple answer they have not put expansion lines in and used a crap mix it would have to be redone again try contacting the contractor and ask him to rectify"
