Right time of year to cut hedges with nesting birds

How long should I wait to cut hedges, to ensure I don't hurt nesting birds?

"If you have evidence of active nests it’s best to leave the hedge until after nesting season in August. However if the hedge is an actionable nuisance it maybe possible to lightly prune the hedge, however this would only be possible if it did not directly impact the nest."

"With our seasons all over the place these days birds are tending to nest at unusual times in the year maybe a bit earlier or later then we would normally expect. So to be on the safe side i would leave the hedge cutting till a lot later in the year to make sure you are not caught off guard by any birds that are still nesting. As soon as the weather turns colder and stays colder you should be fine."
