"This is a difficult one, its important to make sure you find out a lot about the company your going to be paying in advance.

you review all there processes and ask all the right questions. Make sure you ask all the questions you can think of and take your time when picking a company that wants the full sum in advance. Rushing will only lead to making errors so leave your self plenty of time at least a month before your move date to make certain you choose the right company for you and its organised.

Some companies do ask to be paid all in full and in advance. This is a version of normal practice which happens.

Others like us ( JLMTransfers) tend to ask for a deposit first and then the remaining balance afterwards. This is usually a main way of doing things but sometimes we have asked for the whole amount in advance where needed and where it makes sense.

however there are different methods of payment options removals companies use and its worth asking what they are. some may not make sense to be used for certain jobs such as ; Long distance moving, extremely challenging jobs etc. The payment may then become 50/50 or 65/35 etc. Some jobs might be short distance but very complicated and challenging, it all varies.

I would recommend making sure you do your full research, talk to the company your interested in doing your move and work out an agreement before jumping in. Make sure your comfortable and confident they can carry out your move and then go for it.

We are happy to help for any needs that you might have in your transport and moving needs, please dont hesitate to ask us more questions or reach out for a quote.

Kind regards

"Paying the full amount in advance isn't normal for any work, whether that's removals, decorating, joinery, etc.

A deposit is usually required to secure your move date, and then the balance would be due once the move is complete. That's how we work."

"Yes, there are some big companies that do take payment in advance to secure their working day, so it is perfectly normal to pay in advance a trusted company."

"Hi,

In regards to payments upfront.

Removal companies usually take 15% deposit of the actual price to confirm the booking.

The remaining is paid once the items are taken to the drop off property. (New property )
