Can you get roof lanterns that have openable windows? If so, how easy are they to open and close?

"Hi Sarah. There are flat lanterns and hipped lanterns. Depends which ones you mean. Flat ones can be openable and are either manually operated on a fixed arm that opens so far to one position. or there are motorized chain driven ones with an activator that you operate with a rocker switch similar to a light switch to open and close. A hipped lantern ( like a small shaped roof) dependig on size, can have openers that operate in a similar fashion to the flat rooflight lanterns. If small enough, the entire hipped lantern can open. On a large on, a section opens. Obviously, a quality installation/ product is required to make sure all is watertight when closed."

"Hi Roof Lanterns are available with options for opening with a reach pole or remote control operation
The remote control is obviously more expensive in my opinion the roof lateen reach pole is adequate and easy to use"

"Yes, you can. There are 2 options Electric and Lever/Chain mechanisms. Electrical is obviously very easy as there is no effort required just additional installation costs (usually starting around £1500 upwards). Lever/Chain are cheaper but effort is generally affected by the standard of installation and the brand selected."
