What is the average height of a kitchen island? What does the size depend on? Do kitchen island come in a standard size or can you custom make them? Cheers.

"It’s 870mm + worktop depth.
The same as any baseline/drawline cabinets"

"Usually, they have a top height of 870 mm but depending on the circumstances in some of the cases they can be lower or higher.
However the standard is 870mm"

"Hi there.

The average height of a kitchen island is 90 cm, which is the average height where people's hands can reach their items without stretching efforts.
Depending on other factors such as site restrictions or specifications, some kitchen islands are installed between 20-50 cm higher.

Hope it helps!"

"Hi, although this can get complicated, the general rule is whatever height you want it. You will be restricted if there are any appliances in the island, and you may require some bespoke items but where there's a will, there's a way."

"Hi, the standard height of a kitchen island is 8-7-0 from floor to top of cabinet. However this can be tailored to suit a persons height and take into account if there are any appliances in the island."

"Hi it standard height, it same as the kitchen units"
Answered on 6th Sep 2021 - Member since Mar 2021 - report
"the usual height would be 870 mm plus worktop thickness ( the same as the rest of the kitchen ) in some island units an extra height section is provided for tall stools.
island units are usually made up of standard base units to suit customers design needs .
it is important to decide on the worktop type and size when designing.

"Good afternoon
All kitchen base units are 720mm in height plus the legs
Therefore on average without the thickness of the worktop the height is roughly 800mm but this can also vary by 10mm either way by adjusting the keg height"
