Is tarmac the driveway surface most vulnerable to heavy rain and frost?

It depends on the foundation the tarmac is laid on and we'll prepared and laid it is. It's highly durable and pretty weather resistant unless it's poorly laid

Yes it is as water can get into hairline cracks and then if we get a sharp frost it will expand and crack and start to lift

Tarmac can be vulnerable in any weather if not laid right ul get the sinking or cracking  also with the warm weathers to u have to think the tarmac turns up hot before laid we have hot weathers it softens the tarmac and starts to move to the sides if parked on or drove on ud be best with block paving for drives as u can get the blocks upto 70ml thick hope this helps u 👍
