How to stop weeds growing through a gravel driveway

Weeds keep coming through our gravel driveway no matter how many times we treat them. Is there a more permanent fix?

"Weeds will always grow but you can put down a membrane to help keep them from coming up"

"Unfortunately, there isn’t a completely permanent fix for weeds in a gravel driveway, but the best long-term solution is to remove the gravel, install a quality weed-control membrane, and then relay the gravel. Regular maintenance and occasional weed treatment will still be needed, as airborne seeds can germinate in the gravel itself. Keeping the gravel topped up and raking it regularly can also help reduce weed growth."

"Hi. If you lay the white Terram membrane first this will stop weed growth. The weight of the shingle will hold it down. Expense but it works.
Thank you.

"You will need to take it up and fit a weed barrier membrane.

I personally double layer it in a crossover pattern.

"Simple terms membrane is required.
But if the gravel is on a dirt bed then its a lot harder
To stop them.
A gravel drive should
follow these simple steps
Full excavation of soil and waste.
Lay Membrain
Type 1 hard-core
G-core membrane
And finish with gravel"

"The gravel would have to be removed and a membrane sheeting would have to be laid and fitted correctly underneath the gravel in order for the weeds to stop growing"
