How to seal a bath with a large gap

There's a gap of about 12mm between our bath panel and the wall tiles. Standard silicone sealant doesn't seem to cover it. What's the right way to fill a gap that size?

"Without a picture it’s difficult to give accurate workable information but based on your question.. Remove the bath panel,, buy a panel strip, same colour as the tiles. (10mm thick x 30 or 40mm width - in whatever length available). Cut it to length (height of bath panel and/or to fit the gap). Buy some Gripfill, apply a couple of lines only to the tile side. Put in place. Refit the bath panel then apply silicon sealant as necessary to fill the other 2mm…"

"Try using expanding foam that should work . When it has dried cut it flat with a utility knife then you can seal it with silicone"

"You can buy a round foam from B & Q it's called quick step foam. It comes in different sizes, get one thicker than the gap.
Push it down in the gap at least 10mm then silicone on top, make sure to fill across the gap and you won't have any problems with water getting through."
